Bikes past and present..

A few that have passed through/currently reside in my garage..

Note the tasty 10 spokes on the right-side yellow M; forged Mag Marchesinis, mm-mm good. This is the bike from which the parts will be sourced for the new hybrid: 996 front end, wheels, BrakeTech C.I full floaters, and 944 motor (hi-comp, flywheel, 1mm over intakes, MBP keepers, ported heads, flatslides, etc. And get this: stock, original bottom end! I know this is controversial, but I'm not messing with it until I need to, and besides, I'm very good at watching my revs...

Awesome! Nope, not mine. It belongs to a good friend. Was that a DOCC rally?

Incidentally, I did my first-ever track day up at Grattan; great prep for things to come. I couldn't believe when I did my next event @ BHF and I could actually see all the corners in advance...

Yeah, the gone but not forgotten DOCC at Grattan. They said they pulled out because of $$. How is Blackhawk and have you be to Joliet?

I'd tell you let's hook up for a ride, but it's snowing again and my 851 is in various boxes and bins.

I heard it was because customs hassled them too much when they brought their bikes across.

BHF is awesome. Nobody treats bike guys better, and they have a new owner who's doing a ton of improvements.

Other tracks I've been to: Joliet, RA, Gateway, Putnam, Gingerman, HPT, Barber, and Daytona.

I just did a full CCS season last year; this year, I'm only planning on a few race events and several track days. I'm going to chill, work on the house, and build the new M into an SS machine, and now of course, the 851 project. I don't ride on the street much, but I'll give you a heads up when I go to the track...

BTW, were you one of the guys who rented out Grattan the week prior to the rally???

I'll have to try Blackhawk. But my 900's are pigs on the track. I was at Ginger when Aprilia rented the track on my new RS250...loved that track! Should have kept that bike. No, wasn't me renting Grattan.

Maybe I'll see you at blackhawk or Autobahn.

The rent it thing is a bunch guys, by invitation only, called "shut up and ride"! They started it because they couldn't put up with all the bullshit associated with the DOCC event. I've been invited but always have something else goin' on then.

Try ssr, it is awesome!
Great bunch lots of riding time...no bs.
The dates are set again for this year $450 all in for 3 days august 4,5,6.
Find the time you won't regret it! Track has had a bunch of new pavement down and more to come.
Most of the docc problems were drop in numbers, hassle at the border but not with bikes(bringing cash across) and the new executive didn't want to fund it anymore.

From what Mike Cecchini says SSR is "shut up and ride". At least in the early days you needed a referral from someone to get in, don't know if that's the case now or not.
Several of my friends have gone for numerous years and say it's "The Best"!!
