glenn Twite I Wish !! I wish, Cracker bike mate as I have said before, SEX on wheels, Bliss. There is a God correct Balz. The one I belive in has two wheels and a V twin in it. Merry Christamas Mate.
Mr.R Hi, After looking at the pic' of Balz's 888SP(4)S I find it hard to understand how anyone can think the SP5's look better. I rode to the 15 miles to work at 7 o'clock this morning in -6C on my '92 851/916cc bike, it wasn't fun... I'd stripped all of the carbon bodywork off, because if I was going for a trip 'up the road' at least I wouldn't have trashed that! I'd only gone 1 1/2 miles before I found the 1st pair of cars in the ditch with the Police in attendance, there was Black Ice with frozen sleat laying over it and rutted snow everywhere. I only carried on because I didn't want to let anyone down. Can any of you guys who employ folk, understand why my boss got the hump when I told him it was dangerous out there and I'll be taking some of my Holiday entitlement? He was that 'Shitty' I felt like twating him. Apparently he'd left home 10 min's earlier to walk his usual 5 min' walk to work! The local hospital reported the highest ever amount of broken bones or sprains from people falling over in the icy conditions on record. When it gets this dodgy I usually get Nessie to take me to work in the car, but she's still on crutches/using the mobility scooter after her last operation. I've taken the rest of the week-until next Tuesday off. I'll either finally get the old MZ finished or walk in taking a sleeping bag with me, if the temp' doesn't improve I'll either doss at work or call up a few mates who live local to my work for somewhere to flop. Niether of these options are that good as they'll both involve a lot of time spent in a pub! 😉 In the last 9 years or so since I moved out into the 'Boonies' I've only missed 1 days work because of foul weather. Marvin, I've just recalled what you once said about folk buying 'Milk and Bread' after a snow warning... Nessie's just hopped in from the local CO-OP saying there's no bread left Steve! Still we're both in your camp and the storeroom's full of Booze and meat. 😁 A very happy Yuletide and a Merry Christmas to you all from a Fucking Cold Kernow. Steve R
carbonf4 Yep...we're forecast -7oC on the West Coast of Ireland tonight (it rarely goes below zero this close to the coast). I brew my own beer and keep it in the shed, so I like this time of year, because I don't need to chill it down before I drink it, but I'm starting to worry that it may well freeze in the bottle! Perhaps I should drink as much as I can just as a precautionary measure.....😝
marvin Steve, I've been snowed in for four days, lost power for 24 hours, started working on my 851 as much as I could in the dim daylight, working on my 50mm spaghetti exhaust, my 3 phase convertor took a crap today so I had to stop work, (ordered a new capacitor, we'll see if UPS can deliver it tomorrow:-). But, life is good! lots of venison in the freezer, my neighbor got out and brought me beer, (swill to you!), drank all of the Lafroaig, no more Gin either. Hope to have my 851 back on the road by Spring! Marvin
