This is the SP4 I bought this summer from KevSP4, formerly of this parish.

We've been getting familiar, though not familiar enough yet. Hope this 'indian summer' lasts a wee bit longer!

Fantastic mate. Is this the one originally on Ebay out of Burton upon Trent or something like that? What have you done to it since you have had it? Pictures such as this just go to show that the SP4's are the best-looking 888's.😉

I must agree that SP4 is the one! Otherwise I would have bought something else!

Yes, this was the one from Burton on Trent. I've been clocking up a few miles and spending a few pounds and getting friendly with my local ducati mechanic. Currently some fuelling problems, but I think we're nearly there, should be ready to rock just in time for the proper cold weather...

Do I recall correctly that you live in Hackney, if I'm right??
This weekend I'll be riding my 851/916cc the 600+ mile round trip to Essex/East London, fingers crossed that it's not pissing down all of the away and there's no need for the gritting lorries, although the forcast looks good. 😏
On Sunday afternoon I'll be at my old local The Anchor and Hope in Clapton at the bottom of Harrington Hill down by the River Lea, after a trip down memory lane (Brick Lane market for a salt beef biegal breakfast) with my eldest son who lives in Stratford.
I'll be on foot at the pub as I intend to neck a few pints of ESB, if you're local and fancy a pint/chat about all things 851/888 or if it's dry bringing your SP4 down to show it off.
Pop down I'd love to see it or just share a pint with a fellow enthusiast.
I'll be wearing a Black MA1 Ducati bomber jacket or my Dainese Ducati leather jacket, it would be very hard to miss me at down at the 'Anchor'.

Thats a fair ride at this time of year, respect! Hope the weathers good and your kit is up to the job.

I doubt I'll be able to meet up this time, I'm away for sat night and not sure what time i'll be back in sunny Hackney on Sunday (very impressed with your observational skills btw...I changed my location to London, seeing as how the site is quite an international affair!).

I've been past the anchor and hope a few times, but I've never managed to pop in, I'm down near bethnal green, so its not quite on my radar, but i'll have to check it out next time I'm passing.

If you're up again, let me know. Enjoy yer beigel and yer ESB!

I once shagged the female postie on a bench there after taking her to an 'Undertones' gig back in '79 or '80.
I was living on an estate off of the Homerton High Rd down by the Matchbox factory, I forget the name but it was pretty rough back then.
Isabelle the Italian postie where are you now?

Hello Otto, Yes that is one and the same bike, waiting on a chip. And there I was thinking I was the only SP4 in the village..I can't be very far from you, I think a beer is on the cards, I'll drop you a PM.

Knowing the italian postal service, I expect she took a long time to 'arrive', if at all...

You could probably arrange some sponsorship of said bench with one of those personal dedications 'veni, vidi, vici' maybe.
