griff851 wroteNuts, I had to take the Silkolene decals off. Didn't suit after looking at it for a while. I tried putting various size button heads in the holes, but that looked crap as well. The search continues........

Hi Griff,
The old girls looking really good. 😎
Where's the dyno run mate??
I don't run any mirrors on my '92 851/916cc, but the 2nd hand carbon fairing had been drilled to take them,
I just used one one the holes (on each side) to pick up the fairing mounts (lightened '91 fairing subframe) using a couple of large mushroom headed Ti' screws and left the other holes as...
Well 6mm holes.
No ones ever pointed them out as the bike looks like a refugee from the race track anyway.
I tend to use stickers to cover up damage or to give the bike that 'Period' track look, Termignoni, Agip, Michelin etc it hasn't stopped the bike from winning a handfull of best bike or best 4 Valve awards at Ducati club events.
It's never won an award for the bike with the most stickers though.
Have you thought about getting a couple of 'Griff' stickers made to cover the them, or do a few trackdays and get the scrutineers to put the stickers over the holes?
In the past (like 20-35 years ago) I used to plaster my fairings in IOM TT, Bol D'or, 24 Hour Le Mans, Barcelona/Montjuic Park etc stickers all of these had the year of the event on them, it was like a history of the bikes use.
This all started when I'd used masking tape to protect the fairing from the bungies that held my kit on the bikes and when I removed it, it took the paint with it! 🙁
If I crashed I'd hang the shagged fairing up in my workshop and start again.
I had quite a collection that held a lot of good memories, but ran out of room some years back.
I wish now that I'd never thrown them away, as every sticker had/told a story.

P.S. Poor Paul's probably having a fit reading this post with his dislike of stickers. 😁
