It's not on my schedule yet. But I'm very anxious to go (not to race though). Would be great to see races that could have taken place twenty or so years ago.

Superbike legends is an "ordinary" Bikers Day's trackday! I've talked to the organiser, depending on entries they will create "legend" groups. But don't be surprised if the majority of the groups are filled with modern bikes!

On the radio this morning: On account of a two year old noise complaint by neighbours, court decided to withdraw Spa-Francorchamps licence. It's now illegal to organise race meetings on the world's most beautifull circuit!!! 😯

They also said it was the only complaint in over two year's time! 😳

You're right. I've read about others wanting to go to this track day (which presumably will not take place!!) and they do not have bikes from the eighties.

Oh well: I'll keep an eye on how this event is developing...😳

Turned out the 2 year old noise complaint against the track was based on dubious arguments. So the courts desision has been declared invalid yesterday! Spa-francorchamps has it's licence back!
I would not be surprised if all of this is just part of a political game, the circuit hasn't had a single complaint against it since this one!
Superbike Legends will go on! 😄

S. Mertens 851 Racing

Hi Friends,
just want to share this pictures with you. I went to Spa on saturday and had a talk to S. Mertens and his mechanician.
The one 851 Racing in front was the one which was burning while crashing into the wall when raced in the early ´90th.

Unfortuately it was raining all the time and he did not ride the bikes on saturday. My friend told me Stephane was riding a Desmocedici today. Now I am a little bit upset cause I had no time today...

I didn't make it to Spa, we had an end-of-racing-season celebration, together with a birthdayparty for our teamowner's wife on Saturdaynight and let's just say there were a couple of DNF's involved! 😁

The frame was originally not in red but after this happend they painted it red.
But I agree this was not the best choice...
