I just got around to installing my Brembo iron full floaters with new Ferodo platinum pads. The old pads had a rod running over each pin hole that put tension on the pin/pad. The new pads just have the hole. I see anti-rattle clips in the pictures of the Brembo calipers for sale. Is the anti-rattle clip necessary?

I did a search but the titles of some of the threads don't directly mention the anti-rattle plate. I have the snap pin rather than the pin with the cotter clip. Is the cotter clip pin a worthwhile upgrade?
