stafford wroteWhat a larf, at the MOT station.
Kinda goes "Nice bike, I suppose I'll have to wait the obligatory 20 minutes and give you a ticket"
Checks lights, the left hand indy and the brake light.
Checked the rear swing arm bearings and both wheel sets the headstock and jobs a good'n.
Piece of p***.
But can someone explain why I have to tax three bikes and one car when I can only use one at a time?
One of the testers that I use is extremely strict, I'd sorted out a mate of his Duke in the past, after being recommended by another highly respected mate in the trade who said to him...
"Mr R's a real enthusiast, his bikes are almost like his children they want for nothing! He'd never present a bike for the MOT that wasn't perfect in every way".
After the 1st time I used this tester when he went through the bike with a fine tooth comb, on my next visit he then said...
"Hi Steve this's really a paper exercise isn't it, how's the bike going?"
We had a coffee and chatted until the alloted time was up, then he gave me the ticket.
If this workshop has a problem with any Ducati, they give me a call to come and check it over...
I never charge for this favour, swings and roundabouts come to my mind here.
I've got several places down 'ere now that pay me the same compliment/respect.
Years ago when I lived/worked on bikes in London, I could get MOT's done over the phone, the guys that I used knew that I wouldn't throw them a 'wrong un' as my reputation depended on it.
I've never had a bike fail it's MOT in over 36 years now!
