Mr.R
Oh come on Andy £75 every 2 years for a pair of belts isn't really that painfull is it mate?
How long does a rear tyre last you and how much do they cost?
I've seen one off in an afternoon track session at the WDW at Misano.
I go through £120 rear chains in around 6000 miles on my 851/916!
Oil changes every 2000 miles (at most) using top quality oil, what's the cost of that chap?
I'm on a very tight budget myself, being a Dad to 6 kids and living in the West Country where the lowest wages in the UK are paid...
I've struggled or years to keep my bikes on the road.
I've made my own gaskets and even used Renault Clio belts at £15 the pair in the past, (and I saw 11000 rpm whilst using them) but these days I cough up the full price for genuine Kevlar reinforced belts, for peace of mind if nothing else.
Of course I'd never pay the full Ducati price if there's an alternative to be had!
I've spent a lot of time over the last 30+ years of Ducati ownership searching out these parts.
I've run BMW, VW, Renault, Citroen, Ford, Kawasaki, Honda, Suzuki, Moto Guzzi and even BSA parts amongst others in my Ducati's and...
The search still goes on...
As I once said, Mr R.... The home of cheapskate tuning!

You are quite right of course. I'd have guessed £20 each so I was only surprised to the tune of £17 a belt. There that sounds much better.
It's not the amount so much as that it was more than expected so psychologically it's more painful than buying something for £500 that I expected to be £500.
