First trackday on my 851/88

I rode my 851/88 for three days at Mosport on the weekend. The bike was everything I expected and more. What a treat! I left the suspension untouched from the previous owner, updated the front brakes, a set of belts and new rubber. I may not be fast but it sure is fun and easy to ride!

I have to agree, riding my 888 on the track is pure unadulterated FUN!

Here's another memory of mine similar to the above post...
Back in the late 70's or early 80's Jimmy Wells hired a Kawasaki, I think it was a GPZ1100 and raced it in either the TT or the Bol D'or, complete with the hire company's paint job offering it for hire along with their phone number!
Jimmy was a very handy International racer, he was badly injured at one of the Northern Irish road races some time in the 80's which finished his career, the bike he was racing (I think) was a Bimota Kwaka locked up and he went through the screen cutting his throat badly, but for the marshalls quick action Jimmy would have died at the roadside.
Unfortunately I think that Jimmy suffered brain damage as a result of the accident.
He was a really nice guy, at the time I knew his father Fred 'Oily' Wells who ran a bike shop in Manor Park E12, (East London) Fred rode across the Sahara Desert on a Yamaha DT175.
The only prep' for the trip was to fit fork gaitors and a huge fuel tank!
