BTW, my 89 851 leaves my 99 R1 for dead on the twisties and on the brakes. All 92 hp is not the greatest but the sound and the fury of it all. should be illegal. I have techno wheels, aluminum tank, old 916 cpu, lockheed master brake cylinder. Ohlins shock, WP steering dampener.

Being the frugal person I need to be in these times, I took it apart. gently pried the crimp and it all slid right apart. I used a stanless hose clamp to hold it together and it's been good now for a year so far. The problem was a jam in the impellor from some muck or another. It's pretty obvious once you get it open.
