Thanks Chris for taking the time to advise on #456 & #415.
I consider #456 is too expensive for me, given that the cost of bringing an already expensive bike to UK and correcting the non-standard modifications would be additional costs.
The dealer selling #415 states in its ad: “It has one or two blemishes according to its age.”, so again there would be some additional costs.
Also, in order to help register an imported bike in UK, I would need DMH assistance, and they need proof of ownership and photographs of the factory stamped Frame (VIN) & Engine numbers on the bike, so this is a pre-requisite to obtain DMH verification.
I have already followed-up several bikes that were well presented, but then encountered problems mainly with engine number verification, from private and dealer sellers, both in UK and Europe, so have not proceeded at this point.
I’m still looking, and hopefully the right bike will eventually emerge.
I much appreciate all the authoritative advice members have provided, and thanks to all for their time.
Tom.
Update: I’ve asked the dealer to provide images of the the generic part of the VIN and Engine number for #415, and I’ll see what they say.
They’re going to come back to me later in the week.
