Just made up a bevel throttle cable. I ran out of 45% silver brazing rod for attaching the brass nipples. Propane torch is the heat source. My old rods were normal melt temperature, making it rather tricky not to trash the cable.
So I found at the local big arse hardware store and brought 45% silver low melt l,made in China, brazing rods. Absolutely the perfect solder for cable making. No colour change on cable and minor copper leaching on brass.
Not exactly cheap, but cheaper than pro 45% silver rods, you get what you pay for sort of thing. But for cable making, ideal material match I reckon.
