Thermostat not opening fully. Crap build up in radiator and system, Chewed up impeller. Sensor reading wrong. 80° is normal. May peak and turn on fan 30°+ day temp normal riding. Start to give it some serious flogging on hot days and I’ve found my 888 will turn on the fan when back off to flight idle 100kmph, then it settles down to oil temp, I have oil temp and water temp monitoring, and found a dodgy water temp sensor. 2 types fitted to the 851/888 series. Blue and black. They are standard items used on other vehicles.
I use Motol Mo cool. First ran it in the 250 rr for track reasons. As it’s running on the edge, ( actually has brown ring about 2 mm off the bottom very clean center insulator on 4 cylinder), it has to run with the fan on. The Mo Cool actually worked better than gycol (testing at track) and pulled the needle back a needle width away way from H. 30°c day temp and no go racing on long tracks.
