Hi folks - that's us a few weeks in, and thought I'd check on how we're getting on. So far, we have 30 active accounts, most of which are re-registrations of previous accounts. That seems like pretty good progress to me. As we get used to the new forum software, there will no doubt be things that we want to change (I'm struggling with the emoji picker on the editor, so I'll need to take a look at that sometime).
For those that are interested - the software that I'm using is Flarum (https://flarum.org/). When I set up a process to transfer the data, I actually started using a more traditional forum software (PHPBB), which - while it did the job, I was quickly finding limitations and restrictions - and I wasn't happy with how it looked. Then I found Flarum, and I've been really quite impressed at how extensible it is (for example, I wrote the mechanism to blur images if you're not logged in, and the payment integration).
As we proceed, I think it'll be useful to have more than just me involved, with at least one other person with either Moderator, or perhaps full Admin credentials to help out on those occasions that I might not be available (for example - I'm off to the Himalayas in September on a Royal Enfield - I rather suspect that Internet access might be limited...) - Let me know if anyone is interested in helping out.
I'd also like to encourage discussion on ideas to make it easier to use, and to encourage discussion/participation.
