Very interesting ! The Ducati museum director, in a communication (email) with one of the previous owners of my bike circa 2021, mentioned that « In 1990, Ducati produced a total amount of 380 851 SP2. » So yours has to be one of the very last - if not the last one to come out of the line (they were notorious for producing more plaques than bikes and skipping some numbers). Is your frame number matching the plaque (i.e. *000390*)?

guillaume69 yes, the frame # does have the matching #. I have requested from Ducati confirmation and more information about my bike but I am still waiting.

The normal channel we use for bike authentication in Bologne will probably not work for your SP.2 due to a database system change that happened 10 years ago or so. There was some glitch and apparently, their system no longer retains infos about 851/888 SP/SPS. When the previous owner of my bike requested a Certificate of Conformity from Ducati West Europe to import the bike from Germany into France, they came up with a « This frame number never existed » type answer… 😅

You’re best luck is to contact the Ducati museum in Bologne were someone (the director, I guess) still has this info. I attached a copy of this email exchange below, that will allow you to understand it all
