RWG Hi folks Is the such a table that may exist to help identify cam belts for each model, IE number of teeth. I am wanting to obtain sets for: 1988 851 1994 888 sp4 1994 916 2002 mk1 st4s 2002 mk2 st4s Cheers
brad black there are only two desmoquattro belts - one for the normal desmoquattro head (851, 888, 916) and one for the dropped exhaust cam head (st4s).
RWG Thanks Brad, I remember something different for the 748r 02 model I had something to do with width maybe ?
tubbylad Is it right that Gates 5192XS is suitable for the non dropped head at less than £20 on ebay?
brad black sorry, my mistake. also the 748r belt. only used on 748r. the non genuine gates belt - the one with the renault fitment - is the belt that caused all the issues. if you use them, no more than 2 years is my recommendation.
