Dictrilli Hello everybody, I have a question about an 851, can someone identify if this bike of the picture It's a original 851 Corsa/Roche Replica? Which kind of VIN number should have on the frame? Many thanks to everybody!
MarkT At first glance, with a single photo, it could be. Many of the common Corse frame bits are there. But many have modified stock frames into Corse frames. But there are some parts on a Corse frame that are much harder to replicate on a Strada frame and are the true way to tell if it is an OEM Corse frame. With it assembled it is hard to see these bits. I would need a few more photos to be sure. If you give me the number stamped on the frame I can tell you if it falls into the correct number sequence.
workslorenz There are a lot of wrong parts installed on that bike... could be only the frame a roche replica but: - forks - exhaust - front frame - rear frame color - calipers - swingarm are all wrong componets

stiglarsenDK Strada or sp Not a race frame for sure, but still very race capable https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=E_1zMt5FtvM This video gives away some of the Corsa special features to look for on the frame
MarkT The photos show me that the welds for the "Corse" gussets do not look factory. The close-up of one of the gussets looks narrower than the factory gussets. The spools on the steering head look solid without a cut annular groove, which the Core frames have. I see that it has two tabs -the one above the tube is for the street battery holder with the lower one for a Corse battery holder. I would say that the street on was not removed. Usually, on the Corse 851 frames, there are two small diameter tubes that are welded diagonally across the bottom of the frame to close out the box of the frame to give a higher torsional stiffness. Steet frames do not have these two cross tubes. Your frame does not have these cross tubes. I have to say I have seen one Corse frame that did not have these two diagonal tubes but 99% of the ones I have seen have these tubes. And last- it looks like your frame has the street frame thick welded-on steering lock plate, which was cut down to allow the use of the bottom magnesium triple tree. The Corse frames have a thin plate for the steering stop plate. Now these are not the best photos to make a positive Yes or no--but based on what I see it looks like you have a modified street frame. So I agree with Stig that it is set up for track use but it is not a Corse frame.
henk Hey Mark, Do 851 corse frames also have a code behind the footrest,or is this just the case with the 888 corse frames? And if so with what frame or year did they then start with that code/number behind the footrest? Henk!!!
