When rebuilding my SP3 engine I had parts ceracoated, also had the thermostat coated.
Do not know if there's a relation with this, but now the thermostat is leaking, think it's between the 'ring' part and the body.
Unfortunately this type of thermostat is no longer available 🙁 so I am thinking of trying to see if I can fix the leak.
I know the thermostat is made of some kind of plastic, not sure about this ring though. Does any body know if this ring is also made of plastic and what type of plastic the thermostat body is made of? Probably need to use glue for fixing this.
Or does anybody know where to get an OEM 851 thermostat?

Anybody got experience with stuff like wynn's cooling system stop leak?
Not too sure if would want to go this way but it might be a fix for my leaking thermostat.

the ring is just steel. i levered it out bit by bit to get it off, and tapped it back down again.

Hi Brad,
That's what I figured as well.
But I got lucky! Yesterday the Ducati Club Races at Assen with lots of stands selling stuff.
And yes, got myself an used but in good conditoon thermostat.
Installed it today and it seems tight!
