New fuel

Hi,
This might be a silly question, but need to know what it all means.

Radio advertisement today mentioned new E fuel may cause problems for some cars and bikes.

Can I safely assume any bike or car that can burn unleaded can work safely with the new Ethenol based fuel. I understand fuel lines, diaphragms & plastic tanks are vulnerable to the addertive
Would I be right to assume this ?

I have been using Sta-Bil in my bike for a couple of years and they now provide one specifically for Ethanol fuel. This stuff claims to keep water to a minimal level and also prolongs the life of the fuel.

The best bet is to use high octane fuel, while it is around still.

The biggest issue with Ethanol is the hydroscopic nature of the stuff (absorbs water), so if you have no option but to use ethanol based fuel, have a serious think about the use of stabilisers in the fuel and check out the reviews before making the choice.

With regard to corrosion within tank, would anyone say it would be a good idea to Line each steel tank when you have multiple bikes that are rotated through the year.

Some bikes might see 1000 miles each year while others only see about 500.
My two main bikes run all year and clock good miles so not concerned about them.
Would like to know members thoughts

Yes, get the tank sealed to add some more comfort that the dreaded rust/corrosion won't surprise you.

My buddy had a 2012(??)KTM RC8 and we removed the tank to do some work and we couldn't get the bolts to line up to reinstall it. The tank basically stretched after we took it off.
There are a few gas companies here that sell non-ethanol gas (usually Super' grade) so I try to only run that fuel in all my bikes.
