3D printing parts

You may well know that I have been recreating and printing parts for a while and thanks to Jasper and DucatiDad, I have been loaned a couple of parts to recreate.

So everyone knows, I like a challenge and 3D design is still a learning curve for me, so is 3D printing, but I am having fun and s doing it, so I thought I would share some of what I have been up to.

FYI, this takes me a long time, anywhere from a few days to a week or more, to design and test print as part. I don't have a 3D scanner as they are ludicrously expensive, so any part loaned me is measured by hand (and eye, when curves are involved) and reproduced as faithfully as possible.

I am not touting for work as I have a full time job looking after an EMEA technical team in the IT world, so this is a hobby, but I am always up for a challenge - it just may take a while!

Single Seat Bum Pads (Middle one is for SP3)

SPO/4/5 Single seat base plate.

Rubber Air Duct connectors for 1991 to 1994 models

SP2 Rear light surround (the 3D image is pure;y 2D and no perspective, so it looks wrong with the real part in front, but I assure you, it is pretty close!)

That will take some doing, especially with the captive bolts....let me have a think about how to tackle it.

Sorry for the delay and I still have a couple of tweaks to do to the design, but it means I have to take a few steps back to make the changes stick. Your part is safe and as you gave it to me, but if you want it back now, I am happy to bring it back to you.

3D Scanning now done on a few parts....

Thanks to DucatiDad for the loan of the SP2/SP3 rear light surround.

I have now bitten the bullet and got the Undertray and dash fuse and relay covers scanned at the same time professionally and now looking for a company to print some for me.

Let me know if any of you might want some of these bits as I know I can get discounts for a reasonable batch of parts 3D printed (10 or more at a time).

I'd like to say, thank you so much for doing this, just from a standpoint of keeping the bikes alive. Car and bike communities need more people like you
