MOT and European Headlamps

Hi,

I have just remembered (again!) that I have the original Euro headlight in my 888 SP4. I am just about to get the MOT done and wondered:

a) if this would be a problem as I do not have a UK light?
b) are there any beam deflector templates that counteract incorrect (towards the RHS) beam?

At the last MOT the inspector kindly put some tape over the light and let me off, but I cannot be so sure the next one will (and I cannot remember the shape of the tape).

Any advice or template recommendations?

Mot tester has been putting insulation tape on mine for each MOT for the Past 10 years.. bloody things are useless anyways I keep intending to fit a UK one but it has never been a priority

Thanks for the response.

The bike passed, beam is set flat so RHS beam direction not too much of an issue. That said, I would be interested in your UK light just in case future MOT testers are less forgiving. Do you have a price in mind?

I have similar issues with my SP3 running Termi's with 'not for road use' stamped all over them. I always dither about putting standard cans on for the MOT, forget, and then get away with it... but I know one day I will get asked...

Yep they are hopeless! The tape fell off, then I got paranoid about it failing just as some decent weather arrived, so I figure just fix it once and for all! Cheers, Kev.

😄 I take it off as soon as I ride away, but yep I have the same thing each year... must get round to that for next time

My usual MoT tester doesn't even bother with the black tape, on the grounds that I'll only remove it as soon as I leave the garage!
