El cheapo exh reversion plate test

Found the photos. I believe the theory is to solve a supposedly overport issue and at the same time increase the speed of the sonic reversion wave so it gets just past the exh valve before it closes. That way you get back pressure. So I made these out of stainless and wazzed them in at went for a burn up the road. A big boo sad face compared to the previous run 1hr before. Whipped them out and power returned. I call this the potato effect.
So, choking the exhaust didn't work for me.

Hi Griff,

Check out the exhaust port on the Misano cylinder head in this link.
Looking at the as I would describe "Soft D Port" on the Misano head, I think the plate you tried is just a bit too large???
I've been thinking of trying similar to you, but smaller as per the Misano heads.
I was thinking of tack welding a tongue into the bottom of the exhaust stubs that I use, if it doesn't work then they'll be easy to remove.

You could be right there Steve, but check out Eldirts exh on his 500. At a later date I might make up some lower ones and see how it fairs.
