Hi team,
even if I unplug the front and rear brake light switches, the brake light remains on. All wiring looks intact and all the other electrics appear to be working fine. Have a I got a short circuit somewhere? Bad earth?
I am a self confessed electrical dunce!

I thought the light was remaining on even with both switches unplugged from the main loom. I was wrong. If I unplugged the front switch, the light went off.
I'd lost the little plunger that acts on the micro switch!
One chopped up pen lid later, problem fixed.

yes, that micro switch is hilarious - or so I thought as I dropped the miniscule screws that hold it in place!!
