Working on St4s engine conversions for Dual pickup / special flywheels etc.. and face a choice on timing gears... the 996rs small timing gear has 3 holes for Oil feed via crank, but is too thin to make the flywheel position in the right position.. exploring the many Ducati variants i found what i belive is a 848/1098 timing gear which is taller 23mm , exate what i need... the gear however like the std St4s and many others does not have Oil drillings to lubricate the gears..
Now, are these drillings a must have or will Oil splash be enough? Cheers !
