griff851 wroteI'd admit defeat, put your pistons up on eBay and buy new pistons. Mucking around fitting little end bushes institute is not going to go well. The reaming is going to load up and possibly crush your big end bearings, unless you make a jig to hold the rod. Just press fitting the bush is going to be a hassle. They are an interference press fit. Not impossible but wow! I read a while back the process involves cool bush, press fit. Get large ball bearing and push through bush, then ream to size.
Yeah Griff, I already admitted defeat to myself. I chose to invest in carrillo's because I expect a rev happy engine with these 748R cams, so stronger lighter conrods as well as S4 cases.
Don't want to fiddle with the carrillo's trying to make it fit, feel that might compromise the strength. Also because I have decided I want to race the bike in the Ducati Klassik in Germany.
And since my pankles also have 21 mm pin diameter I can't use those when I want to build myself an original spec 888SP3 engine (some project for the far future). So I do have use for the carillo's if I can't find a seller for these conrods.
Thanks for sharing your insight, appreciated.
