SP4S letterbox tank cover

I know there has been talked about all ready some time ago.
But was there really a carbon cover in front of the hole of the tank on a 888SP4S?
On the most pictures that i can find there is nothing there.
I only found a few with that cover.
So if there was something there original then alot of them are missing!

1992 SP4S never had an OEM cover at front of tank.

90 - 92 Corsa tanks have a letterbox, later works bikes ran with a CF cover. Benefit of a sealed airbox was starting to be understood and developed.

93 Corsa tanks dropped the letterbox

Ok thank you make sense.
I know there has been a topic here where there was talked about have those cover made for the SP4S tank.
But it could been something that was added later then.
This is a photo i found from such a cover on the SP4S tank.

Peter @ Oronero made covers for the 91/92 Corsa tank a few years back. Wonder what happened to him, Peter reproduced hard to find, good quality parts for our bikes.

Those pics look to be a of a modified 91/92 cover fitted to later style tank. Not perfect but does the job
