best rotors?

I want to improve the stopping on my 888 Strada, fitted with the standard original discs, what is the best disc/pad combination? Would the Brembo full floater Oro stainless discs work better than the SP cast iron full floaters?

IMHO the cast iron rotors are the best. I use Carbone Lorraine SBK 3 or 5 pads. I used DP race pads om the track but they were a little too agressive for the street. There are lots of great pads out there but I literally hate EBC HH pads (not linear, not great until they heat up, TERRIBLE IMHO)

P.S. I use a Brembo GP master cylinder. But watch out, there are Chinese rip-offs out there!

Thanks - I though the cast Brembo's were prone to cracks and warping - does anyone offer replacement discs to refurbish the worn cast iron (I mean is it possible to get replacement disc part on to the Brembo disc carrier)?

I have used the cast iron Brembo rotors on my bikes for 20 years with never a problem. That saying, that doesn't mean that the problem doesn't exist. I have just never had any problems.

I believe there are replacements available after market. Search on this site.

If your std steel discs are within service spec. Brembo radial master cylinder 19 x 18 & EBC HH pads will give you all the braking power and most importantly feel' you'll ever need.

This setup offers a massive improvement over stock, easily as good as modern Panigale brakes.

Don't use sintered HH pads on iron discs, you'll stop quick but discs won't last long

thanks all - I ride with only my left arm so am stuck with choice of master cylinder, I have to use a clutch m/cyl that takes up little room on the clip on, I see that Brembo also do a clutch radial m/c 18-20, I presume this will be same as the brake m/c?

Thanks AJV - so you are recommending a Brembo radial master cylinder with 19mm bore with 18mm lever pivot - would I be correct that a Brembo radial clutch m/cyl with 19mm bore & 18mm pivot wuold offer the same power/feel?

Can't see a problem using 19 x18 radial clutch MC as a left hand brake.

Best you speak with Mode Performance (Brembo importer based Northampton) to confirm requirements. They also helped me out with bobbins, shims & c-clips to rebuild discs in the past. Very knowledgeable and helpful team.

These pads are the succesor to the CP1 pads and should be an improvement.

I am trying to locate these organic pads but very difficult to get my hands on them (FRP408 CPRO).
