stiglarsenDK Im trying to find data related to the markings on barrels and original pistons .. A-B-C... I have the understanding the it related to tolerance / dimension, but can't find any data, anyone ? Thanks
Peter888 The workshop manual says: Cylinder - The cylinders are marked by a letter, (stamped into the side of the cylinder) indicating the class they belong to, and then the cylinder-piston coupling must always be performed with parts of the same class. Piston-cylinder coupling - Coupling clearance: 0.04 to 0.06mm. Max clearance: 0.12mm. The pistons are marked with a letter indicating their class (punched on the crown of the piston). The cylinder-piston fit must always be made between the same classes. The cylinders are silcone-carbide coated, and therefore cannot be rebored, so Ducati provide three different piston sizes to match whatever bore size the cylinder turned out to be after manufacture. That only leaves the question of what sizes A, B and C refer to, and that I don't know.
stiglarsenDK Thanks... Thanks, im after the specific tolerances for the A-B-C barrels .. yes original pistons have the markings as Well.. non original obviously not.. cheers
