stiglarsenDK Preparing for a few track days in Germany coming week and found this on 2 year old fuel Lines (outside tank) Just a reminder .. ! (And use top quality Lines)
henk Ethanol cause this in the new fuel. 98 octane fuel should be better then 91-95,less ethanol. Henk!!!
Mr.R Surely Ethanol would attack the inside of the hose, I'm pretty sure it wouldn't come in contact with the outside unless you've got a leak? Personally I've used submersible hose rated as Ethanol proof even on the external fuel lines for a few years now. It might be "Belt and Braces" But since doing this I've had no problems. I also only use 98/99 Octane fuel in my tuned motors, in fact I tune the motors on the dyno to suit this fuel. Steve R
RWG Good call, Two years ago I had a runout and stoped for a break at Kielder lake. When I got back to bike could smell fuel, used electrical tape and rode home 40 Mile not recommend but lucky escape for me.
Elcondor Is there a fuel line kit available for 888's? Or do you just get some fuel line and make them up? Mine are a bit perished externally and i would like to replace the lot.
Mr.R No kits available these days and there probably never was? So just buy yourself a couple of metres of submersible fuel hose and make up the kit yourself. In the past I've bought the hose from the local BMW motorcycle dealership. Steve R
