I'm on the verge of ordering a set of Silmoto high-mount, carbon slip-on's, but don't want to make an expensive mistake. I thought the header on my '91 851 was 45MM, but now I'm reading 40MM in some places. I think the Silmoto cans have 45MM extensions. Will these be a direct fit or not?

measure the OD of the header where the cans connect.

there are two varieties.
those that fit all 851 and 888 strada and 900ss/sl, all of which have nominally 40mm headers.
and those that fit 851 and 888sp with the 45mm headers. which are possibly 50mm at the muffler slip?
they should both the same apart from the little part that slips onto the header. on the termis that was a short section welded on, and the pipe that went up to the muffler was probably 50mm.

On my Silmotos when I went to the 50mm header it was a really simple cut and shut to make them fit, measure your pipes but don't stress too much, a good welder can adapt them to fit really easily.
