Idling way too fast (4000 rpm)

After sitting for about six months, I replaced the seized fuel pump and filter on my 888 Strada.

It finally fired it up today flames and all, but it's idling way too fast.

The bike has been moved from a warmer climate to a much cooler climate.

Does it make sense to be suddenly idling much too fast after sitting and moving ?

I presume I need to adjust the limit screw on the front throttle body ? I do have a 916 throttle on it with fast idle button, but it's not pressed.

Any suggestions please ?

I'd be first looking for something keeping the throttle open, sticky cable, or something physically wedged in there that won't let the butterflies close.

Same thinking here.. take off filter and look Down the inlets... Right side of TB i very Bush with Fuel Lines etc May interfere w cable / connecting rods etc..

ok, will take a look.

Do I need to take the whole airbox off, or just the lid. I have the lid off now, and can't see anything wrong.

The idea taking off the filter is to see if anything prevents the throttle movements ... likely on the right side of the TB's

Well I feel stupid, nothing wrong with the bike, it was the choke was advanced - doh !

My only excuse is I haven't been on this bike for 12 months 😁
