Hi guys

Good to see a forum dedicated to the 851/888 range.

I've ridden 888s for a few years now, and up until Xmas 2006 had a couple in my garage. I've sold my Strada since then, but still own an SP4. It now shares garage space with an RC30, and an early seventies MV Agusta four.

The bike's covered 25,000 miles, and gets used most weekends - even in the winter if the weather allows. I've owned it for about six years, and until recently I only owned/rode the 888s.

The reason it's looking so clean is that its just been stripped/rebuilt (..and the 'summer' 😏 weather here in the UK has been so bad I've been unable to get out on it since then!)

The rebuild explains the shiny appaerance! Was it just maintanance or did you have to overhaul it? And about the summer weather: same here in the Netherlands.

Mainly just a very thorough clean up, but.. suspension was rebuilt front and rear, new bearings fitted where needed (steering etc), filters all round, cam belts, new carbon bits, stainless steel fittings/bolts. (..and whatever else I could think of whilst it was in bits).

She's looking clean now, but she's still not a patch on my old Strada. Take a look at the photo. This bike had to be the best 888 in the UK. Practically as new. I only sold her because I didn't have the space to keep her 🙁
