Big end change

Hello All, hope you are safe and well.

Today I have mostly been .................. checking big ends.

Looks like I'm in the region of thou / thou and a half - whats the consensus, too tight for an engine that's going to get "used"?

Recommended alternative clearance?

Cranks and rods are both A and I've used red shells.

Old shells for reference, don't seem too bad.

888 manual says 0.024-0.056. I believe the adage is tight for street loose for race. 0.038 sounds good to me, right in the middle zone. You'll be able to bimble down to the shops and attempt to out run the cops, knowing there is enough clearance to provide an adequate film of oil on your big end bearings. 😁
