I’m guessing it was a kit frame ? Early frame nos usually were for racing ie kit , that engine is a replacement because of the way out of sequence number from the end of the run !
A1 on heads is a kit fitted bike , ie 888cc and A cams plus the kit parts fitted to the bike on the service race sheet , such as side mtg battery loom mods , race chip etc etc .
