Mr.R wroteI lowered mine by 1" and the result was perfect.
Although all I did was make some lowering plates to drop down my rearsets.
John Prine has the ability to make me laugh and cry, sometimes at the same time.
The man was a genius and should be a National treasure of the USA.
My thumbs are getting sore now, rubbing off the rust from the driven plates, but then I shouldn't have left the bike outside over the winter...
But I have a soon to be rectified valid excuse for that.

Hi Steve
I also have a bit of a problem with the old knees! The idea of lowering plates sounds interesting. I did try a set of Gilles foot pegs on my 1198S (same sort of idea as the picture Marvin posted, above, but not as nice) - I thought they looked rather ridiculous, so they came off. I've got a set of Corse rearsets on my SP3 at the moment. They look good and have a bit of adjustment, although not much! Dropping the whole thing by an inch or so might make all the difference.
Any chance of some more information or pictures?
Many thanks
Andrew
PS - Marvin, I meant the Gilles foot rests looked ridiculous, not yours, they look great!
