Hello Collective,
hope all are keeping safe and well in the current climate.
Can anyone advise whether using solid or drilled dowel plugs is advisable?
I have ordered the replacement screws 067647210 that sit either side of the big end journal however the supplier has sent parts with tiny oil jet holes drilled in them 77911092A as the original part seem to be NLA.
I can of course use ordinary grub screws however I was wondering whether oil jetting the underside of the piston was an advantage?

afaik, the one with the hole goes in the lh end of the crank to feed oil to the bearing in the alternator cover.
it'll just be spraying oil out, and the amount that actually hits the underside of the piston would be pretty minor i'd think.
plus it may influence pressure at the big end? probably not a lot due to the volume flowing around?

Heavy Duty Loctite plain grub screws in place.
There's already holes in the 851/888 righthand C/cases to spray oil up under the pistons.
