Hi Everyone
Ive posted a few times over the years on this forum howver i haven't ever really introduced myself..im not really a computer guy, to busy surfing and working!
My name is Paul treverrow from Wollongong Australia and i have been riding Ducatis starting in my late Teens when my Dad and his mates all had bevel drive Ducs
I was lucky enough to have the cash to trade a 750 Katana on a near new 1989 Supersport which i ended up racing for many years
Fast forward 25yrs and the 7/8yr project of buying/building/racing a 851 in the pre 89' Aussie local club championships is nearing fruition
The bike is very close to being run up and down the street, then off to the races...
Basically its a 1989 Japanese import that i road around for a few years befor stripping and handing over to Ron Young to peice together the race parts i had been collecting for several yrs
Magnesium wheels, carbon tank, R6 forks, ally subframe, mini rear brembo disc/rotor and the usual race glass, rear sets etc etc
A 996 motor is being prepped to swap out the origional untouched handgranade, there is also some other small details like megaphone mufflers to be made, 3 spoke mag marvics to replace the 5 spoke wheels etc so as to maintain the 87/88' Roche style bike
Ive been following lots of builds on this site for many years and would like to thank everyone for there commitment to this fabulous machine, there is certainly an increase in the amout of 851/888's being built for racing
All things being even we will be at the track in a few months giving those jap multis a hurry up...!!
hopefully the ive managed to download a pic of the bike
