tubbylad Hello collective. hope all are well. As part of my resto it's become clear both the long (through the rocker) and short (through the hoop) hardened sleeves that the needle bearings run on are past their best. Anyone here have a source of new or stash of good used ones as they appear to be NLA. Thanks, Martin
Mr.R Contact Reed Herman aka Speedmade on this forum, he had a batch made some years back. I bought a couple of sets from him back then. Steve R
Carts Hi all. Looking at the read suspension hoop on my Sp5. The suspension is creaking quite badly. Does any body have a exploded section of where the roller bearings should be, bit confused as when I last striped the bike I don't remember seeing any bearing, looking at understanding what I need before I strip down the bike. Cheers
tubbylad Does this help? The two steel sleeves you can see are where the needle bearings are fitted, one each side of the rocker and the hoop. Needle roller bearings I used are NTN HK 1214L in the hoop. I ended up making new sleeves to fit.
Carts Thanks 😀. That's the info I wanted. So the yellow part of the hoop at the top has a roller bearings and a steel sleeve, that fits inside the roller bearings Need to strip the bike down then as when I had loop off I'm sure there wasn't a bearing. May be wrong, a while back. Thanks again for the post
Carts Thanks again. Yep I have the SP version. Think I just need to strip it down again and find out what's wrong. So that 2 roller bearings and a sleeve. Also need to have correct diameter washes so that the hoop can float on the needle bearings.
