Whitto1 now one for the brains trust ( and Steve !!) setting up the clutch from the boxes of bits from the shed find, whilst the engine is an ? SP5, of the three sets of clutch discs, Ive three rods, 328,324 and 314mm each. The slave is 35mm from outside to base of piston giving a travel of 4mm. One set's papers state a total distance of 38mm complete. When assembled there is a gap of 4mm from the end of the clutch rod to the pressure plate when using the longest rod ( 328mm). Q1. should I machine a space for the rod or find an alternate slave to give the required throw out separation.? or whats the required rod length?
Bridgland Whitto I recently bought one of the Oberon slave cylinders, which has a small lug to deal with the difference in rod length for the earlier engines. This might be an option. Chris
Whitto1 clutch set up griff851 wroteYep, that's pretty much the easy solution. Got one in my MPL.Thanks, I machined up a 5mm spacer and the clutch has a 4mm throwout as per one of my books. Cheers ( more to come)
