As best as I've figured out so far, that ECU is only used in a small number of Bimotas (the 147 DB2SR's that were produced, SB8R's and V-Due's) and Italian Group-N rally cars. Although it uses the same type of EPROM as the Marelli ECUs of that vintage, the on-chip layout isn't the same, and I was not able to locate the fuel/ignition curves... but that's ok.. because I've tracked down the fella in Germany that last tuned this machine 22 years ago, and he's going to cut me a new chip once I have it Dyno'd.
It's now up and running on 944cc with ST2 cams (thanks Brad, your pages were interesting and valuable), and Dyno time booked for tomorrow. Of the list of stuff I was considering below, I couldn't do the flywheel - once I'd taken a closer look, I found that it already has a custom flywheel on it from Bimota, with holes drilled in a 60-2 phonic wheel pattern for the EFI (but still using the standard pickups). It wouldn't run with a lightweight 900ss flywheel.
Separately, I've been toying with creating an interface board to allow a speeduino based ECU interface with the existing loom, and I think it's easily possible, but probably a future project (and is certainly a contingency if this ECU ever dies irreparably).
