Mono fascination ... why ?

Came across this foto , and have wondered before ...

Now , why would you take out 1 cylinder on a beautiful V2 ...😏

Ok, i get it , to race with others having the same fetish ... or would I be the one missing something here ?

Someone please explain this fascination with mono's

Rules in single race series.

If you remove the piston and replace with this counterweight then you have something that can rev much much more than a normal single cylinder engine so producing more power before exploding.............easy way to get around the rules and win.

Yes, think this foto is a mock up ... I have seen others finished , but that was the vertical cylinder that was taken out of action...
