Hi guys, I'm new to the group and am hopeful of getting some info on my bike.
How many 888 SPO were built in 92?
Now I realize that everything says they were built in 93-94, and I am aware of the number of 93 models that were produced, but can anyone tell me how many 93 models were built at the end of 92?

The numbers I have for the 888 SPO are :
1993 ......... total 290
1994 ......... total 100
They were all destined for the U.S. market but some did not sell and the story goes some were sent back , hence one of the reasons you see them for sale in other parts of the world.

most, if not all 93 SPO's were likely built in 92.

The 888 SPO did not come to Australia and ones that reside here are US bikes. We had the SP5 here but not many (they were frightfully expensive for the time). I wasn't aware of any 92 models, I thought they were all 93 / 94 models.
Great bikes, what's the details with yours?

Don't get me wrong the SPO is a great bike.
But what it cost more over a strada i prefer to buy a strada and spend the extra money on some nice parts.

the production of a model year starts after the august holidays the year before. generally anyway. we saw a lot of 2001 model year 996 that were plated 08/00 for instance, and i think some of the 1990 900ss were built around june 1989.
so the 93 888spo could have been built from 09/92 onward. but it was only a 93 model year bike.
