Preparing 2 tanks with the internal guts. (small pump version tanks)
Started checking 3 used walbro's at hand, one of them dead. By chance i saw a crack in the plastic housing at the 3 bar discharge Section, the brass pipe was so loose i could pulle it out by hand.. (stress cracking in polymer materials are not uncommon, specially when expoused to aggressive petrochemicals)
Now looking at the other 2 old walbros.... a small emerging crack is forming at the exact same place, ref foto. !
I can only conclude that these pump types are getting weak with age.. and will obviously not risk a pump failure.
I will instead use the Later Bosch version with small connector... I found loose female connectors at UK online shop.. AUTOCLICK
Heads up ; check your old Walbro fuel pumps ..
