Ducati 851 tank internals needed

Hi all

My above 1990 (Mk1) ducati has just been nicely resprayed, but before this work was done the tank was repaired and when they took out all the guts of the tank (fuel pumps etc) it transpired that most was heavily perished (I even think they took a screwdriver to it which hasn't helped).

Anyway:
1. Does anyone know where and if you can buy replacement brand new bits
2. Does anyone know where you could maybe get the bits refurbished or buy second hand refurbed
3. Does anyone have the original part numbers/drawings etc to be able to look up the parts

you'll need the holder that clips into the tank though.

Check it comes with a sleeve that makes it the correct diameter for the OE holder.
Visit a BMW dealer for a KL145 filter and Merlin Motorsports (Castle Combe) for some submersible hose and clips.

Ducati used the same fuel pump, with rubber bushing and plastic housing as a BMW K75/K100 from the same time period. You can purchase all of the parts from the BMW aftermarket for very cheap prices. There are aftermarket replacement fuel pumps that are much cheaper than the original pump as well

Be sure to use fuel hose that is made to be completely submerged in gasoline, as the outside layers of regular fuel hose will disintegrate, clogging everything

You will see the first thread is labeled manuals. You will find a parts manual for a 1991 851, which is very much the same as your bike with the exception of the front forks.
