oil filter divert plate issue

Hi

am mounting an oil cooler on my 888. Have a question regarding the divert plate which goes above the filter. Do need to shorten the plate opposite the G to have the plate properly seated ? If mounted as received the plate is going to cover the small 'line' on the engine which suppose is there to keep the plate in situ. Further once mounted, the edge of the plate is just slightly higher than the seat where the oil filter rubber seal works and, as such, am afraid it will not seal properly.

My 888 is being assembled and I still have the filter off it, so let me take a photo of it tonight to give you the correct view of the installation.

Here is the photo of mine installed. Done by Pro Twins Ducati here in the UK. Not sure if your diverter plate is the same. The raised bit of metal in the casting is meant to stop the diverter plate from rotating.

The plate you have there is for the newer motors, The older one fits in perfect with a shorter locating tail and they have no rubber seal on the plate, Not sure if folk cut the locating tab or not
