I finally finished outfitting my bitsa '91 Corse with lights and a starter so it could be put on the street somewhat legally. The motor uses the stock Corse harness with the ECU mounted up front. I made a separate harness which can be quickly removed for track use to run the stop/front/rear/ lights, turn signals, and horn.
This may make selling this bike easier because it comes with a '90 Frame and title- along with the fact that in the US this is now considered a classic bike in many states and may skip an inspection to get registered.
I only had about 3/4 space to work in front of the ECU so this lack of space drove the design.
I wanted to keep it looking like a stock bike so I cut down an OEM glass headlight lens and used a LED dome light for low beam and overlaid a LED Halo ring for high beam.
In order to really see at night I also mounted a high power off-road duel LED flood light under the nose-mounted to the bottom triple tree.* Not legal but the LED dome is great for a running light and the high power flood along with the bright Halo ring throws out a good beam of light if you are caught out at night.
Made the assembly bracket and LED headlight bracket out of carbon fiber.*
Bar-end LED front turn signals with LED button bolts for rear turn signals.
Milled up a bracket to hold a bicycle speedo.*
So all is kinda legal depending upon where you live.* Also- this bike may qualify as a classic bike so it may not require an inspection.
Yeah- the round dome and halo ring behind the cut-down stock headlight lens looks a bit strange. If I had painted the carbon fiber bracket white may have masked this a bit better. I could lay down some white duck tape.
