Corse Rear Axle Diameter

Can some one please confirm the external diameter of the Corse Racing rear wheel spindle / axle, and at what point on the axle it is determined please.

Can someone make clear to me the content of this statement.

Rear : From 91 to 94, Racing bikes share the same rear axle (lenght and diameter), swing arm plates and large nuts !!!

If you take the measure of that axle (vertical extremity), you'll read ... 21 mm !!!
The exact measure is read in the middle of the axle ... 23 mm !!! ...

I thought the rear axle was single diameter for the whole length

On all the ones I have seen and measured, they are 23mm wide. There is no step down to 21mm. Why do you think there is a thinner part?

The only thing I can think of is a difference in measurement of the shaft and the H6 shortened top of the M thread. Attached are the sizes of M20 and M22 threads , because I don,t know what the size should be for a 23mm diameter Corse Axle as I don,t have one.

M22 X 1.0 pitch does give a diameter of 21mm

Just the comments made in the enclosed statement they are probably trying to cover their own actions. The rear axle is straight with no undulations as far as I know and the manual shows.

I cannot work it out. If the axle is 23mm in the centre what are the internal measurement of the chain aligners / tensioners in the swing arm ? 23mm or 21mm. Can someone please measure and post the ID of the Corse chain tensioners please ? Part #s 37320061B and 37320051B
