Several companies out there are making 1 piece and 3 piece. And you would still want to use your filter inside of it.

You might try Sebimoto. They have carbon fiber and carbon-kevlar, but their fiberglass version is absurdly cheap, even when you factor shippping into it: https://www.sebimoto.com/fairing-for...-racing-airbox

I've got an original 851 airbox that's been slightly modified, but should well suit your purpose.
It was running on my 851/916cc motor, passing enough air to make 128 rwbhp at 9,200 rpm, with the top removed and a ITG foam filter fitted.
I'd let it go for very little cash. See my earlier post about P+P and import duty. 😉

if the listed value is under au$1000, there is no import duty into au.

the uk system is very odd. i've marked packages with "parts to be returned " or the like with no result. i sent some cables to venhill as samples, and marked it as that, and they still had to pay to get them.

So, an update after a long ass time.

Had some family difficulties that are ongoing so haven't been able to do as much work as I'd like.

I kept fixing things as I found them, and made a tail unit to replace the factory plastic one to save cutting it as I don't like the chopping board aesthetic that it has going on. It turned out rather nicely.

Major thing: I got registration on it! I found that it hasn't had plates since 2001 when it was crashed, so a very very long time.

I also got my full licence (unrestricted capacity) after nearly 4 years of riding, which meant that it was time to suit up and go for a blat.

A few teething issues; the drain hose from the fuel lid inside the tank fell off so it dumped a half tank of fuel on the ground, the headlight doesn't seem to work too well, and the speedo now doesn't work. But that's pretty minor, it ran well, pulled hard, made the most wicked noise as it's got no airbox and just the open exposed filter.
It's so much fun. It's everything I hoped for and more.
Bear in mind I bought this bike never having ridden or even sat on a 888, so it's nice to find out they aren't garbage.

I'll sort the little things, and it's time to put some km down.

What a journey it's been since the last post.
I put quite a few km on it, interspersed with repairs (cracked swing arm etc) and regular maintenance.

In July last year it was stolen and I thought I'd never see it again. Through my dad's terminal illness it was my therapy and then it was taken a few weeks after he died. It was a very very low point in my life, I'll just say that.

4 months after that, I had the opportunity to un-steal it (in the most literal sense) and after a lengthy battle with police and insurance I brought it back home.

The junkies had crashed it fairly badly, bent clip ons smashed windscreen very nasty fairing damage missing mirror etc.
I wasted no time in sourcing parts and having the fairings repaired. I learnt to spray paint and this past weekend I assembled it back together.
Today I took it down for its safety inspection which it passed with flying colours. Hopefully I will get registration tomorrow and take it for a good long ride. I think I have earnt it.

I only have the biposto tail on it now because the mono tail was badly damaged and it's only a replica. I will find a single seater eventually but for now it is rideable and that is all I care about.

Great you got it back and operational.. your story says it all , these bikes are special and worth all the effort..

Keep it going .. and ride it , the harder the better ;-)

That is great news and so glad you have it back. Was gutted for you when I saw the news on Facebook.
