Ducati 888 Strada

An outstanding original and un-restored 888, with fullDucati main agent service history.

Part of a private collection and for sale only due to lossof garaging in imminent relocation for work.

Serviced just 200 miles ago by my local Ducati dealer,ProTwins full check over and cambelt service plus new Metzeler Sportec M5tyres, brake fluid change, etc, and costing £1008.

A Datatool alarm. 888 registration plate (L888 RHH).Upgraded horns. Alacantra (non-slip) seat cover. Carbon front mudguard andcarbon higher level exhausts (I believe these are Ducati Performance).Adjustable levers. MRA tinted screen with spoiler to reduce buffeting. Smallerfront sprocket for more responsive gearing (yet still retaining comfortablecruising: 90 mph = 5000rpm).

Original parts will be supplied with the bike: mudguard, exhausts, seatcover, foldaway pinion grab rails, screen, levers.

First registered 18 Oct 1993.
Owned by me for 8 years, since July 2004. 5 prior owners inthe eleven years from 1993.
Kept in a dehumidified garage since my purchase.

Condition
In outstanding original condition with gleaming paintwork.Easy starter, and runs and rides superbly. Brakes are powerful and effective.

It's fabulous to use the engine pulls cleanly andstrongly, and cross-country blasts are a real joy.. It has never let me down.

The combination of individuality, engine character,excellent handling and strong brakes make this in my view the perfect classic as echoed by the journalist Colin Goodwin in his February 1994 road test:'quite simply the best handling motorcycle I've ever ridden.

In this 1994 article, the new price is quoted at £10,250(!)and I have several period reviews and buying guides, all of which are extremelycomplimentary.

I have owned Ducatis continuously since 1982 and this is theone I decided to keep I shall be very sad to see it go. A good home is a mustand, just in case, I would appreciate part of the deal including a promise offirst refusal should the new owner ever come to sell.
