You have to wonder about people that move next to race tracks and airports and pubs that have band music etc, then complain loud enough that some body actually tries to shut down the track or the airport or the pub. The local track "Lakeside " was shut down years ago by the council, for residential noise issues. Its finally open again. At what point do people take responsibility for there own actions.
There was some people of a less than brilliant nature, that brought a house from a dodgy real estate person, right at the end of the crash zone at the end of one of our Air force bases runways. They complained very loudly to have the place shut down or curfews at the very least. Strangely enough they were politely enlightened, to what it actually was, and the chances of it shutting down. I believe it was filed under "we'll look into it" with a happy smile face sticker on the out side. Griff |

Back to Griff's post... A very good friend of mine moved into a beautiful period end of terrace cottage, next to the very old church where the Champion Bell Ringers of the SW of England 'Ring' the bells. ... and he hasn't stopped moaning about the 'Racket' on a Tuesday evening when they practice! The really funny thing is that my mate Nick actually drinks with the Bell Ringers in the local pub and he runs some of the 'LOUDEST' Norton's in the SW. We also buried his wife in the graveyard of the church less than 200ft from his cottage and on Nick's request had a very large turnout of LOUD bikes making as much noise as possible at the funeral, because Mo' (his wife) loved bikes. The church was full to bursting with bikers all in their leathers, the creeking/squeeking sound as we all stood up/sat down between hymns was almost hilarious... It could have been a 'Python' sketch. Mo' would have loved it.She died just short of her 50th Birthday from a brain tumor after a long illness. Afterwards we held a Wake for Mo' in the pub that stands only 13 paces from Nick's front door, we sent poor Mo' off in style. The Bell Ringers Rang at the funeral and were at the wake*. I'll never forget the date of Mo's funeral as it was on the same day as the 9/11 twin towers tragedy. *Nick still moans about the noise though, then says "I'm to drunk to walk home, I'll have to ride my bike"... This petition was part of the reaction against last summer's noise complaint against the track. As a result Francorchamps lost it licence for a day. But the 2 year old noise complaint against the track was based on dubious arguments. So the courts desision was declared invalid!

agreed people move in near airports and race tracks then complain. a few years back I lived on a private airstrip and my kids both less than 4yrs. old at the time always slept thru the departures, takeoffs or flybys. today I get a kick out of the people who call 911 for emergency services the tell the dispatcher to have us turn off our lights and sirens when we get near their home.
Marvin don't forget the sunday morning quiet time at road atlanta, no noise(race engines) until after church.

HEY !! Why should their religion take precedence over MY religion. I would think at 170 I'd be closer to the edge of god anyway ( done a lot of racing at Road A. ) |
